Maintenance Detail

fabulous condition and in between the yearly and more intensive Enhancement or Correction
Details. It is also perfectly suited to become part of a tailored Maintenance Plan
(monthly, 3 monthly or 6 monthly) and will ensure that your vehicle stays fully
protected and looking its absolute best all year round. The Maintenance Detail package

Protection Detail
Time: approx 6-7 hours Cost: from £150 This treatment is ideal
for the daily driver and will add a durable, protective and water repellent layer
to your paintwork and leave it easier to keep clean and protected. This treatment
does not include machine polishing and therefore will not remove swirl marks and
light scratches but does include clay paint cleansing. The clay treatment will safely
remove bonded contaminants such as tree sap, tar and industrial fall out and will
leave the paint with a clean smooth glass like finish. A good indication as to whether
your car would benefit from this treatment is when water no longer beads and runs
off your paintwork. A Protection Detail will leave the exterior of your car sealed,

£70 I often get asked how long this treatment will last and whilst much depends
on the vehicle usage I would say between 6 and 9 months is about average and 12
months is the absolute maximum. I know many dealers offer treatments which give
a guarantee of lasting 5 years, some even longer, but the reality is that these
products don't live up to all the hype. The terms and conditions of the guarantee
are unworkable and often not worth the paper they are written on. I only use products
which have been tried and tested by myself over many years and which I know work…..this
is the only guarantee I believe you need and one which you can depend on.

Enhancement Detail
Time: approx 10 hours Cost: from £300 This is a superb package designed to significantly
improve and enhance the appearance of your car without the time and expense associated
with a full Correction Detail. Recommended as a yearly treatment, the Enhancement
Detail includes everything in the Protection Detail package and much more to restore
depth and gloss to your paint. Following a thorough paintwork cleansing and decontamination
process, your vehicle will receive a single stage machine polish using a rotary
polishing machine. During this process swirl marks, light scratches and holograms
will be removed or vastly improved. Before After Light coloured paint, especially
metallic, will be transformed and given a glossy wet look and flake pop which will
amaze you. Paint which previously looked flat and lifeless will be restored to a
deep rich lustre with a highly reflective finish. Once the polishing is completed,
your newly restored finish will be "locked in" by Swissvax Mirage Wax (upgrades
available) or a sealant if you would prefer.
Wheels (front & inner rim) will be
thoroughly cleaned using only acid free cleaners and the finest brushes. They will
be thoroughly dried using a warm air dryer and then sealed and protected with Swissvax
Autobahn Wax. Tyres will be dressed to your gloss preference with Swissvax Pneu.

Correction Detail
Time: from 2 days Cost: from £700 Please note that until Manx Detailing has is own
premises up and running this Correction Detail service can only be carried out where
the owner has a suitable indoor space such as a double garage. This is Manx Detailing's
ultimate package and the only choice if you are looking to restore your paintwork
to as close to perfection as possible. A Correction Detail is a comprehensive treatment
aimed at restoring your cars paintwork to better than showroom condition, removing
common paint problems such as dull and faded paintwork, swirl marks, holograms,
micro scratches, light scuffs, keys scratches and damage caused by bird droppings.
HOLOGRAM REMOVAL FROM A CUSTOM TRACK DAY CAR BONNET Before After Following the same
thorough paintwork cleansing and decontamination stages performed in an Enhancement
Detail, the paint will be measured to determine the level of paint correction which
can be carried out safely.
I have invested carefully to ensure I have the best equipment
available to offer a mobile correction service. I use the most advanced paint depth
gauge currently available, the DFT PosiTector 200 Advanced and have recently taken
delivery of two custom made portable metal halide lighting units to replicate studio
conditions. SWIRL REMOVAL ON A BLACK METALLIC PORSCHE DOOR Before After Once inspected,
the multi stage polish process will begin to remove the defects. Bird droppings
contain corrosive compounds that can etch paintwork and leave it stained. Wet sanding
the effected area and then buffing it with a rotary polisher means I can certainly
improve if not remove these stains. Deeper scratches and key scratches can not always
be completely removed but often they are only deep in small sections so it may be
possible to remove a percentage of the length of the scratch. The areas which are
deeper can be reduced and the edges rounded to soften the scratch and make it far
less noticeable. Unfortunately I can't make every scratch disappear but often can
make a significant improvement that means a respray can be avoided. SCRATCH REMOVAL
ON A COGNAC METALLIC PORSCHE PANAMERA Before After The correction process can take
several days to complete but this slow safe process using a rotary polisher will
gradually remove the defects and refine your paint before finally burnishing the
surface to a stunning gloss finish. Once the polishing is completed, it is cleansed
with a pre-wax cleaner prior to receiving at least two coats of protective carnauba
wax to "lock in" the newly restored finish. I will use Swissvax Mirage carnauba
wax (upgrades available) to protect your paint, there are cheaper waxes available
but I feel the finish and durability of the Swissvax range more than justifies the
additional expense.
Please refer to the Swissvax section for further information
on the wax I use. Sealants are also available if you would prefer. The results of
this process can be staggering, with seemingly 'past it' paintwork being revived
to look better than when the car left the factory, but it is a process that should
be carried out infrequently to protect the long term integrity of the paint. Both
Maintenace and Enhancement Details are ideal as subsequent maintenance treatments
in following months or years. The Correction Detail package consists of the following:

Matt Protection Detail
Time: 6 hours Cost: £200 Matt and Satin finishes are
becoming more and more popular. Bentley and Lamborghini are amongst the manufacturers
who offer such finishes and more recently Ford with the Focus RS500. These finishes
are fragile and delicate and highly susceptible to damage from even the most common
causes. The oils from fingerprints will leave unsightly marks that can be impossible
to remove without specialist cleaning and products.
If they are treated with a non-specific
wax then the finish can develop shine & gloss, resulting in surface damage which
is irreversible. MATT BLACK BMW 645 DETAILED WITH SWISSVAX OPAQUE PRODUCTS By using
a range of bespoke products Manx Detailing can clean, decontaminate and apply a
specialist wax barrier to help protect against future contamination whilst ensuring
that the very expensive matt finish is retained.

New Car Detail
Time: approx one full day Cost: from £200 It's a sad fact but even brand new cars
are rarely delivered in perfect condition. Many will have sat in storage for a long
period of time and all cars coming to the Island will have travelled a considerable
distance by road or rail and then by boat. Throughout this journey they are prone
to airborne contaminants and when they reach the dealerships they are handed over
to a valeter who has minimal time, poor training and inadequate products. Quite
often it is just given a quick wash down which can inflict swirls and light scratches.
Often, it is then polished using a PDI polish which offers no protection to the
paintwork. To ensure that your new car collection or delivery is the special and
pleasurable occasion that it should be, why not treat it to a New Car Detail. Following
comprehensive wash and decontamination stages, the exterior paintwork will be assessed
and receive a single stage paint correction (more if required). The majority of
new cars will benefit from a single stage correction which will remove any swirl
marks introduced during dealership preparation.
The paintwork will then be protected

Fabric Roof Detail

reproofing the fabric roofs found on convertible cars. The fabric is under constant
attack from UV light, everyday pollution and bird lime and it is imperative that

A few existing clients have asked
me recently if I would pop round and do a quick wash on their car in time for a
weekend Wedding/Christening or just the promise of some nice sunny weather. I have
put together a comprehensive wash only package which is perfect for those wanting
a quick freshen up of their car in between my Detail visits and without the risk
of stripping the protective wax or inflicting swirls. I know I'm not as cheap as
the local drive through but I've seen the damage a sponge, acidic cleaner and t-cut
can do to paintwork.......and it just isn't worth it !!

Wheel Detail
Time: 1 hour: £30 I believe the best way to
fully clean and protect wheels is to remove them from the vehicle. This isn't a
quick process but as I have been asked on a few occasions lately to perform a wheel
only detail, I have put together the following comprehensive treatment package:
◦Vehicle is raised one corner at a time using a trolley jack, the wheel removed
and the vehicle is then supported with an axle stand for maximum protection ◦The
wheel is then placed on a Rim-Mat which keeps the wheel safe and off the ground
during the cleaning process ◦The wheel is pre-treated with a specialist pH neutral/acid
free cleaner ◦Power rinse ◦Using more pH neutral/acid free cleaner, the wheel is
then cleaned (front & back) using a selection of high quality non-scratch detailing
brushes ◦Tyre is cleaned ◦Power rinse
Tar is removed using a solvent cleaner ◦Wheel
and tyre are then washed with pH neutral shampoo and a lambswool wash mitt to remove
